Concert highlight on September 2: Star trio with Leonidas Kavakos, Yo-Yo-Ma und Emanuel Ax

Three exceptional artists – violinist Leonidas Kavakos, cellist Yo-Yo Ma and pianist Emanuel Ax – meet in a trio of superlatives on stage at the Kulturpalast.

»The Washington Post« praised the musical chemistry between the three as »almost supernatural«. In their programme »Beethoven for Three«, they dedicate themselves to two outstanding compositions by Beethoven: his »Pastoral« Symphony that was inspired by the nature and the »Archduke« Trio. The trio arrangement of the Sixth Symphonymakes the boundaries between chamber and orchestral music blur in a fascinating way, opening sonic horizons in which the power and direct appeal of Beethoven’s music can be rediscovered.
